FAQ

Edelweiss Bike Travel is the leading motorcycle and scooter touring company and has been running tours for 36 years. We have led 38,000 people to the far corners of this earth, and managed to maintain our high standard of quality. All of our tours are led by experienced, well trained tour guides, who enjoy their job.

At Edelweiss Bike Travel, providing great service is without question, but it is "legendary" service that we strive for. We train employees on a regular basis to achieve exemplary performance in the care of our guests. Only when the expectations of the guests are exceeded, is the tour considered a success by EBT.

Edelweiss Bike Travel does run its own tours.

Over 60 percent of the guests travelling with Edelweiss Bike Travel were guests on previous Edelweiss tours or came because of a personal recommendation.

Depending on the number of participants, a minimum of one experienced tour guide will accompany the tour. Additionally one van driver will accompany the tour and drive the support van if this service is included in the tour.

It is up to each guest either to follow the tour guide or to make his own way together with a friend or two.

Our tour guides are almost all bilingual, (German/English). Some can also speak Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Norwegian, Italian or French.

At least one Edelweiss tour guide has led the trip before or scouted the route several times.

Carefree trips are a matter of thorough tour planning and service. Of course, to ensure that you can relax during your holiday, we will transport your luggage and will always have a support vehicle with spare batteries and technical equipment ready to aid the group. Our EBT support vehicle travels regularly on our cycling routes to provide light refreshments, refill bottles and rides for those who want them. Please note: Some rides on E-Bike paths may have limited access for the support vehicle.

This depends on the tour. On most tours we start out at 9 am and arrive at our hotel for the night at 5 pm. Exact details about the time spent riding and the type of terrain that is to be covered you will find in the tour details.

The daily riding distances depends on the tour character and vary from 50-90 km. Detailed information can be found in the individual tour descriptions.

Each customer is provided with a detailed tour booklet which contains all necessary information regarding the trip (information about the country, what to bring, itinerary, maps ...).

Edelweiss Bike Travel carefully evaluates each destination and determines optimal group size based on a variety of factors, including complexity of logistics and number of rooms at selected hotels and E-Bike capacity. The average on our tours is 12 to 14 participants. Many of our guests prefer groups of this size, where diversity of age, E-Bike experience and interests ignites instant friendship.

Edelweiss Bike Travel always seeks high quality lodging and cuisine that reflects the character of the area in which we travel. Over the years, we have cultivated relationships with fine hotels and restaurants throughout the world.

Our concept of a rest day is that we don’t change hotels. Of course our tour guide offers a guided route on this day and each individual can decide whether they want to join the guide or do their own thing.

You can use your own E-Bike on almost all of our tours. However you are then responsible for the transport of your E-Bike to and from the tour start.

On most Edelweiss Tours there is a support van which transports the luggage. Most E-Bikes have luggage systems for small items such as rain gear and photo/ video equipment.

Yes, the age limit depends on the destination clients are choosing. Edelweiss Bike Travel passengers should be not less than 12 years of age.

It depends on the chosen tour. If we have less than 6 bookings on a standard Edelweiss tour 30 days prior to tour start Edelweiss Bike Travel has the right to cancel this tour. In such a case we offer to operate the tour for a surcharge. Depending on the participants decision, we decide either to cancel, or not.
