Embark on your e-bike adventure through flowering landscapes overlooking the Indian Ocean to the vineyards at the southern end of the beautiful African continent

There are few countries in the world that combine such a diversity of life and beauty of nature in such a small space. Discover why there’s nowhere quite like the Western Cape in South Africa.

We begin our journey along the stunning Garden and Wine Route in Port Elizabeth, which winds along the rugged shores of the Indian Ocean. We’ll just go with the flow of the waves that send us westwards and cycle along the Swartberg mountains. Some days, we’ll venture deeper into the mountains, discovering the most beautiful spots of the region. This trip has too many highlights to name just one: the wild coast of the Tsitsikamma National Park and the semi-desert landscape of the Karoo region will leave you with vivid memories just as unforgettable as your photo safari for the
wild-roaming Big 5 or the delicious culinary delights of the Stellenbosch region. This trip is a real treat for all senses. Two weeks in this beautiful country with its friendly people, dramatic landscapes, wild animals, and fascinating history, and you’ll never want to leave.

Travel schedule

Day 1: Arrival in Port Elizabeth
Your South Africa adventure begins with our Welcome Briefing in the hotel at 4 pm where you can meet the group.

Day 2: Port Elizabeth - Storms River
Today’s the day. After a quick shuttle trip out of the busy metropolis of Port Elizabeth, we get on our e-bikes and start riding. The first few kilometers take us along the spectacularly beautiful Garden Route into the foothills of the Swartberg mountains. Master the first pass on this trip with ease. Despite it not being very high, it provides a great descent, sloping down to the Indian Ocean amongst splendid scenery.

Day 3: Storms River - Knysna
This day is dedicated to the Tsitsikamma National Park. Numerous rivers have cut their way deep into the Swartberg mountains as they flow down to meet the ocean. Admire the wild environment of the Storms and Bloukrans river valleys, with a bit of luck you may see a bungee jumper taking the leap from the 216 meters high Bloukrans Bridge. Today’s ride ends at Monkeyland, take the time to explore the beautiful sanctuary while your bike is loaded for a quick transfer to our next destination, Knysna.

Day 4: Knysna - Oudtshoorn
From Knysna, we take a convenient transfer to George. On the way, you can admire the rough beauty of the Wilderness National Park and mentally prepare yourself for the first real pass. In George, we get back on our e-bikes and continue our journey up a steady incline. After we have reached the top of the Montagu Pass, we ride into the Karoo region. The South African semi-desert landscape provides a fascinating riding experience, enchanting us with its mesmerizing ocher tones. Look forward to our first rest day in Oudtshoorn, the ostrich farming capital of the world.

Day 5: Oudtshoorn
Our first rest day has a lot to offer. An easy bike ride gives you the perfect opportunity to explore the world-famous limestone caverns of the Cango Caves and visit an ostrich farm on the way. Some amazing riding challenges await those who can’t get enough of their e-bikes. Why not climb the famous Swartberg Pass and venture deeper into the fascinating Karoo region?

Day 6: Oudtshoorn - Herbertsdale
Wave goodbye to Oudtshoorn as you head south, spending the morning pedaling up the Robinson Pass. This pass takes you back on the fertile plains high above the Indian Ocean. The lush green country will be a feast for your eyes, especially after having traveled along the arid heartland of Karoo. Enjoy the gentle ride through the rolling hills and get ready for another one of our highlights: the Gondwana Game Reserve.
